ORIGINALS
Karin’s original artworks, painted on blank canvases, vary in size and type, and explore different styles, colors, materials and elements. She uses mostly acrylic paints, combining them with ink, paste, glue, spray paint, varnish, sealant, newspaper, rice paper, tissue paper, stationery, cardboard, burlap, strings, beads, stones, sand, foils, which she then applies with brushes, rollers, scrapers or knives.
For her, painting has really been about “playing”. Through art, Karin has played with different visual trends, often culled from travel, nature, design, interiors and fashion impulses, and with a variety of shapes, forms, colors and lines. As she describes, in contrast to working with her “head” in her daily business professional life, painting recreationally has given her space for "heart and hands", bringing her enormous satisfaction and adventure.
