Profile
Artist by passion rather than formal training, Karin has been painting for over 25 years, first in Hong Kong and more recently in Switzerland. She has been an art enthusiast for as long as she can remember, avidly visiting art galleries, museums and attending art lectures around the globe.
Although her “daily” professional life has been in international business, even in the corporate or entrepreneurial worlds in which she has worked, she has always either held positions that encompassed creative activities or has applied creativity and a sense of esthetics to the projects that she has managed. Design, nature, expression and an eye for beauty have been important threads throughout her life.
Karin began collecting art in Hong Kong, where she was exposed to a rich diversity of both eastern and western artists. Her favorite art is abstract art, with its inaccurate depictions or representations, its natural “freedom”, lack of boundaries and ability to convey intense energy and strong emotional expression in suggestive ways. Albers, Viallat, Delaunay, af Klimt, Klee, Richter, Rothko, Twombly, and Stella are some of her favorites.
Karin has exhibited her works in three small exhibitions in Switzerland - Maur, Erlenbach and Zürich. Her artworks hang in private homes across Europe.
